…to scope out the area and CSUF. And grab some goodies from 85 Degrees bakery on the way, of course. Anyway, now I need to choose which school to transfer to in the spring -CSUF or SDSU- ASAP!! especially because registration has started and I need to get into classes.
Pros of CSUF: 1) has the closest major program to what i want. 2) living on my own/out of the house! 3) new adventures. 4) the pressures of having to work for rent and attend school excite me. Cons of CSUF: 1) have to find another job (but i’ll be quitting my current one anyway for JapanTrip. either way, i’ll have to find a new one). 2) find and pay for housing. 3) smog/traffic/congestion. and what does one do in Fullerton on their free time?! 4) having to leave SD City College’s awesome photography program. i could always take classes there in the summer though.
Pros of SDSU: 1) save (a lot of) money on housing. 2) closer to beach. more nature. 3) possibly still have a job after JapanTrip? if Wahoo’s takes me back. Cons of SDSU: 1) not the major program CSUF has. 2) still living at home.
i guess the “Pros of CSUF” should be outweighing those of SDSU. saving money just pops up in my mind in size 48 font.
edit: I was freaking out to my mom about being too late in submitting a FAFSA for next semester. But I love her. How she’s telling how important going to school is. To not worry about money. Just focus on school and get it done. How she doesn’t pressure me to pursue anything I’m not passionate about.
I got into SDSU and CSUF to transfer in spring semester ‘11. now what?! Fullerton has more of the program I want (Communications with concentration in Photocommunications as opposed to Media Studies at SDSU), but saving money always becomes an issue. If I go Fullerton, I would have to find a place, pay rent, hopefully get financial aid (I hope it’s not too late to apply), of course I would try getting a job. I need to decide by mid-december. Plus, Okinawa trip goes down during winter break, in the middle of having to figure out the Fullerton situation -if that is in fact what I choose to pursue. People say, “Don’t let money get in the way!” I’m sorry, BUT IT DOES.
Also, I’m probably not even going to apply to a UC because I’ve waited to transfer long enough. This is my chance to. CSU system is just as good.
[TO DO: No matter which school I choose, I have to call the airline and ask about changing the return flight from Okinawa to an earlier date. CSU spring semester starts a week before community. UGH FEES.]
